11/18/2004 St. Rita’s Collaborates with Delphos Businessman to Provide Physical Therapy Services 
Effective November 29, 2004, St. Rita’s Medical Center will be offering Delphos residents comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation services. For the past 12 years, Rick Hanser, owner, Tri-Co Physical Therapy has been providing Delphos residents with physical therapy services. Nearing retirement, Hanser approached St. Rita’s about taking over his practice to ensure patients continue to receive high quality care close to home. 

11/18/2004 St. Rita’s Auxiliary to Hold Annual Christmas Bazaar 
St. Rita’s Medical Center’s Auxiliary is holding its annual Christmas Bazaar on December 2 and 3 in the Auxiliary Conference Center, 718 W. Market Street.  

10/06/2004 St. Rita’s Names Mercy Club Award Winners 
For just the fourth time in its 26-year history, St. Rita’s annual Mercy Club award was given to an area couple. John and Sally MacDonell of Lima were named this year’s award winners. The pair joins a long list of distinguished award recipients. The MacDonell’s were honored during St. Rita’s annual Mercy Club Reception this evening in the Medical Center’s fourth and newest medical office building. 

10/01/2004 St. Rita’s Chief Operating Officer Named Among Modern Healthcare Magazine’s “Up & Comers” for 2004  
It’s not often in one’s career that you receive national recognition – especially at the age of 39. Years of dedication and hard work have paid off for St. Rita’s chief operating officer and executive vice president Brian Smith.  

09/29/2004 St. Rita’s Unveils New Dental Van 
Children throughout the city of Lima and beyond will have new reason to smile when St. Rita’s Medical Center unveils its new state-of-the-art Dental Van on Tuesday, October 5 at 1:00 p.m. in the parking lot behind the Lima Public Library. 

09/29/2004 St. Rita’s to Name 2004 Mercy Club Award Winner 
Wednesday, October 6 will be a night to remember for hundreds of Lima residents as St. Rita’s Medical Center holds its annual Mercy Club Reception. This marks the 26th year for the event. 

09/22/2004 Lima Community Leaders Announce Support of St. Rita’s Expansion 
They are calling themselves Lima Citizens for Community Growth. A group of local citizens and top community leaders today endorsed St. Rita’s Medical Center of the Future expansion and the closure of portions of High and Collett streets. 

08/30/2004 St. Rita’s Medical Center Recognized for Service Excellence  
St. Rita’s Medical Center Recognized for Service Excellence
by J.D. Power and Associates -- First Ohio hospital to receive distinction 

07/20/2004 St. Rita’s Women’s Wellness Center Receives National Re-accreditation 
St. Rita’s Women’s Wellness Center has been awarded a three-year re-accreditation in stereotactic breast biopsy as a result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology. 

07/14/2004 St. Rita’s Employee Appointed to State Board 
Gregg Bader, St. Rita’s Medical Center, was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Ohio American Massage Therapy Association. Bader will serve in the position of second vice president.  

06/17/2004 St. Rita's Medical Center Receives Chest Pain Center Accreditation 
The Society of Chest Pain Centers has granted the designation of Accredited Chest Pain Center to St. Rita’s Medical Center, making it the fifth facility in Ohio, and 47th in the nation to be accredited.

 

06/11/2004 St. Rita’s Has Success With New Cancer Treatment 
Physicians at St. Rita’s Medical Center are offering new hope to patients with liver cancer. Dr. Thomas Church, board certified radiologist and Dr. Ravi Madan, medical oncologist are experiencing success with a relatively new cancer treatment called radiofrequency ablation.  

05/18/2004 St. Rita’s Honors EMS Responders 
On Thursday, May 20 beginning at 6:00 p.m., St. Rita’s Medical Center will honor more than 300 emergency responders and their spouses at its annual EMS Banquet at Veteran’s Memorial Civic and Convention Center. 

05/18/2004 St. Rita’s Accepts Award from Ohio Governor 
If Governor Taft was handing out Olympic medals, St. Rita’s Medical Center would be taking home the gold.  

05/18/2004 St. Rita’s Sleep Lab Holds Open House in New Location 
Sleep disorders are more common than you may think. In fact, more than 70 million Americans have problems sleeping.  

05/10/2004 St. Rita’s Dedicates Cancer Resource Center 
On Saturday, May 15 at 3:30 p.m., St. Rita’s Development Council will dedicate the Medical Center’s Cancer Resource Center, 803 W. Market Street, in honor of Gilbert J. Wellman. 

05/03/2004 St. Rita’s Auxiliary Launches “Reach Out and Read” for Underserved 
As St. Rita’s prepares to observe Cover the Uninsured Week May 10 – 16, 2004, it is launching another grassroots initiative to ensure children of uninsured residents in the area are given the tools they need to read. The Medical Center will kick off its Reach Out and Read program this Wednesday, May 5 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at St. Rita’s MED-CARE Health Clinic, 939 W. Market Street. 

05/03/2004 St. Rita’s Takes Part in Cover the Uninsured Week May 10 – 16, 2004 
St. Rita’s Medical Center is part of a nationwide coalition that will be observing Cover the Uninsured Week May 10 – 16, 2004. The goal of the grassroots initiative is to increase awareness of the plight of the nation’s 41.2 million people without health insurance. 

04/22/2004 State Farm and St. Rita's Hold Free Bike Rodeo and Bike Inspection 
Area schools will soon close their doors for summer vacation and that means many children will spend their days playing outside. To ensure their safety, Lori Kroeger’s State Farm Insurance and St. Rita’s Medical Center will hold a free Bike Safety Rodeo and Inspection for area youngsters. Each year hundreds of children are killed in bike related accidents and an estimated 140,000 children are treated in emergency rooms for head injuries sustained while bicycling. 

04/20/2004 Lima’s Hospitals Jointly Receive $1.5 Million Donation 
An Auglaize County couple’s legacy will live on through Lima’s two hospitals following a generous $1.5 million donation.
