For babies born
prematurely or those having special health needs, St. Rita’s is equipped
with the region’s only Level II special care nursery. Physicians with
New Century Pediatrics are available to manage the care of newborns and
pediatric patients transferred from another facility to St. Rita’s.
Facilities
in the region can make neonatal referrals and infant/pediatric patient
referrals 24-hours a day, seven days a week by contacting St. Rita’s One Call
Transfer line at (866) TO-RITAS or (866) 867-4827. The transfer call will
contact the designated physician with New Century Pediatrics to the transferring
physician so they can speak one-on-one. Physicians with New Century will
come to the facility and assume the care of the newborn and coordinate the
transfer to St. Rita’s.
If a patient is critical and the nature of their condition requires immediate
transfer to St. Rita’s for treatment, emergency air transportation
is available through St. Rita’s Life Flight. Air transportation
can be arranged by calling St. Rita’s Life Flight dispatch at (800) 241-LIFE
or (800) 241-5433. In minutes, the medical crew with Life Flight can be
in the air for a neonatal transfer to St. Rita’s. |
