St. Rita's has a total of 30 oncology certified nurses providing quality, compassionate cancer care throughout the medical center. St. Rita's oncology certified nurses care for patient's in the region's only dedicated inpatient oncology unit, in our outpatient oncology unit, at St. Rita's Regional Cancer Center and at the Women's Wellness Center at St. Rita's. "St. Rita's is proud to have so many nurses pass this stringent examination to receive their OCN certification," says Katie Hunt, Oncology Manager. "Our patients should have great peace of mind knowing they are receiving the highest quality nursing care when they come to St. Rita's," she adds. St. Rita's cancer program has been designated as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Center by the American College of Surgeons. This accreditation recognizes St. Rita's cancer program as having advanced and complete capabilities for treating virtually all types of cancer. Patients may also benefit from participation in St. Rita's Cancer Clinical Research Trial program offering the most advanced therapies in cancer treatment. Our research program is affiliated with the Mayo Clinic of Rochester, Minnesota. New oncology certified nurses include: Pam Ralston (Wapakoneta), Connie Wade (Wapakoneta) and Jim Lehman (Continental). Jill Gross (St. Mary's) has just received her certification in the area of medical-surgical nursing. |
