MED-CARE Clinic Overview
St. Rita’s MED-CARE Health Clinic provides families with no health insurance, no family doctor and limited incomes the healthcare services they need.

While the original intent of the clinic was to link the underserved residents of our community with basic healthcare, it has since evolved to include educating residents on how to make healthy lifestyle choices. Our doctors and nurses teach patients how to eat right and exercise, make sure they know the importance of getting regular checkups and taking their medication and link them to social and financial counselors. Our caring staff ensures those patients who cannot afford their prescriptions are getting the medications they need to manage their chronic health conditions. MED-CARE also offers a weight reduction clinic, smoking cessation programs, asthma management and an immunization program for children.

In 2002, patients saw our doctors and nurses nearly 11,000 times for routine examinations, screenings, counseling and health information. Before the clinic, these residents often went without any medical care at all.
