Heel (Achilles) Screening
When testing for osteoporosis, there are two types of painless tests, one of which is the Achilles or heel screening. This test uses ultrasound instead of X-ray and measures the bone density in the heel only. The test takes only five minutes to complete and a physician’s order is not required.

This FREE screening for osteoporosis is available at the Women’s Wellness Center, St. Rita’s/YWCA Healthy Lifestyles Center in the Lima Mall, Putnam County Ambulatory Care Center or at the Delphose Ambulatory Care Center.
