Clinical Decision Diagnostic Unit (CDDU)

St. Rita's Clinical Decision Diagnostic Unit (CDDU), often called observation, has six monitored beds for patients who may or may not need to be admitted to the Medical Center. The purpose of the CDDU is to provide patient treatments such as hydration, pain control or other non-life threatening conditions. Overnight monitoring is provided for patients with chest pain or who are scheduled for next day stress tests or heart procedures. Located within St. Rita's Emergency Department, the CDDU is for adult patients, is open 24-hours a day, and is staffed by emergency personnel.
