Emergency Department
Pediatrics

St. Rita's knows that treating children requires special care and special environments—that's why we have a dedicated pediatric emergency department (Pedi ED). Pediatric patients ages 14 and younger are treated in a separate area of the emergency department. Board certified pediatricians, trained in emergency medicine, take extra care as they diagnose children in a comfortable environment where they can feel safe. The nursing staff are also trained and certified in critical care nursing and age appropriate growth and development.

St. Rita's Pedi ED has the full support of all ancillary services including advanced radiology, laboratory and specialty outpatient referrals, in addition to limited after-hours pharmacy services.

The Pediatric Emergency Department is open from 12:00 noon to 12:00 midnight (please note that hours may vary pending patient census and acuity), seven days a week, including holidays. Ancillary services are available 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Pediatric patients that present to the emergency department "after hours" are triaged and treated in the Acute Care Emergency Department and/or through Emergency Express Care.
