St. Rita's offers infant massage training by a certified infant massage instructor. In addition to learning about the benefits and techniques of infant massage, new parents enjoy the time sharing information about caring for their new babies.
Some of the benefits of infant massage include:
- Relaxation for Baby and Caregiver
- Stress Reduction for Baby and Caregiver
- Relief of Gas/Colic and Decrease in Constipation
- Caregiver and Baby Bonding
- Improved Sleep Patterns and a Decrease in Fussiness and Irritability
- An Increase in a Baby's Ability to "Self-Quiet"
Groups meet every Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the Pediatric and Adolescent Rehabilitation Center located on G7 at St. Rita's Medical Center . The class fee is $40 for four sessions however, no one will be denied if they are unable to pay.
