St. Rita’s Medical Center offers comprehensive rehabilitation services at the Wapakoneta YMCA. The professional, highly qualified staff of St. Rita’s offers the same expertise and experience patients find at the Medical Center, but with the added convenience of using these services close to home.

St. Rita’s and the YMCA are working together to provide these vital services to men and women living or working in the Wapakoneta area. Rehabilitation can be arranged to meet each person’s home and work schedules. Hours are flexible, making it easier for patients to fit rehabilitation into their busy schedule.

These services include:
  • Physical Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Speech Therapy
  • Aquatic Therapy
  • Athletic Training
  • Cardiac Rehabilitation

After an evaluation for any one of these rehabilitative services, patients and their therapist will set goals to maximize their function and independence. An individualized treatment program is then started to meet their goals.

Your physician may determine that you need rehabilitation due to:

  • Work Injuries
  • Surgery
  • Hand or Wrist Pain
  • Sports or Orthopedic Injuries
  • Nerve/Neurologic Conditions Including Stroke and Parkinson’s Disease
  • Heart Disease
  • Neck or Back Pain
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Arthritis
St. Rita’s cardiac rehabilitation program is designed to help maintain or improve the patient’s overall quality of life through improved strength and greater confidence in the patient’s physical activities. A registered nurse monitors the patient during exercise, taking periodic heart rhythm and blood pressure measurements.

A physician’s referral is needed to join the program.

St. Rita’s at the Wapak YMCA is located near Wapakoneta High School on Defiance Street.
