SpeechEasy is a device designed to fit in the ear of a person who stutters.
This device provides feedback as the person speaks which results in speech
that is more fluent. This device has been featured on television shows nation
wide and has helped many people who stutter improve their communications and
their futures.
The SpeechEasy device is designed primarily to work with older adolescents
and adults who have suffered from a life of stuttering. The evaluation for
the SpeechEasy device includes an assessment by an audiologist and a speech
therapist to determine if the device will be successful and work with
you to get the best outcome.
There are three SpeechEasy models to choose from. These models include a behind
the ear model, one that sits just inside the ear canal and a third which sits
deep in the canal practically out of sight. These models vary in price and
insurance does not cover the cost of the device or the services related to
fitting and programming the device.
If you are interested in trying the SpeechEasy device there will be a trial
period to determine if you can benefit from its use.
