Aqua-cise

Are you currently living with:
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Arthritis
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Diabetes
  • Osteoporosis
  • Joint or Chronic Back Pain
  • Have a History of Joint Replacements
Do you wish you could exercise but just don't feel confident to do so due to your medical condition? Or do you not know where to start? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then Aqua-cise could be for you!

Aqua-cise will introduce you to exercise and help you safely improve or increase your:

  • Endurance
  • Circulation
  • Flexibility
  • Range-of-Motion
  • Coordination
  • Balance

Aqua-cise is staffed by a certified athletic trainer (ATC) from St. Rita's Medical Center and is held in our Outpatient Rehabilitation pool. The class size is limited so the athletic trainer can work with each participant in the pool. At the conclusion of the class session, you should be able to participate in an individual or group program and will be provided with a list of surrounding locations where you may continue your aquatics-based, healthy lifestyle.

To join this program you will need to complete a release form and be able to independently dress/undress and enter/exit the pool. Aqua-cise is run on a monthly basis from September through May, beginning the first of every month. Classes typically meet Monday and Wednesday from 5:00 - 5:45 p.m. or Tuesday and Thursday from 2:00 - 2:45 p.m. (Please ask about current days and times when calling to register.) A non-refundable fee of $24.00 for the entire session will be collected at the first class.

St. Rita's reserves the right to cancel sessions if a minimum number
of participants are not pre-registered.
