St. Rita’s
Medical Center is dedicated to continuing the healing ministry of Jesus
Christ. For 85 years St. Rita’s has been steadfast in its mission of caring
for the poor, the elderly and the vulnerable members of the community and
to improving the health of the many communities we serve. The Medical Center
continually strives to ensure all residents of West Central Ohio have access
to advanced medical technology and quality care.
Last year, St. Rita’s contributed $21 million in donated medical care and
services to the community. For those residents who have limited incomes,
no health insurance or family doctor, St. Rita’s provided basic health care
through the MED-CARE Health Clinic.
Doctors and nurses ensure families receive regular checkups, screenings
and life-saving medications. Many of the clinic’s patients also receive
needed dental services through the MED-CARE
Dental Clinic. In Lima’s at-risk neighborhoods, registered nurses are
going door-to-door through the Neighborhood Nursing Program. They link people
of all ages to the medical care they need, help them manage chronic health
conditions and ensure children receive the immunizations they need. And
more than 81,000 residents in West Central Ohio phoned St. Rita’s Call
A Nurse service last year receiving valuable health information 24-hours
a day. These are just a few examples of St. Rita’s mission in action.
Read about these and other free and low-cost services in St. Rita’s 2003
annual Community Value Report. |
